Facelift for Gentry Senior Activity Center

Face lift for Gentry Senior Activity Center

For those wondering what’s happening with all the work on the front of Gentry’s Senior Activity Center building, it’s getting a face lift.

Using brick left over from the library renovation, Robert Krein’s masonry business is putting up a brick veneer on the front of the building to make it better match its historic surroundings.

Once that is done and the council approves funding, a free-standing canopy is planned for the building’s front. No word has yet been received when the canopy will be installed.

In the photo, Michael Young, an employee of Krein, is cutting brick for the renovation project.

A photo of the finished project is planned for a future issue of the Courier-Journal.
