The Gentry Fire Department was testing its newest fleet addition Friday, a hook and ladder truck which can lift a fully plumbed platform 95 feet in any direction from the truck. The truck was purchased to enable the department to better respond to emergencies involving large structures like the schools and multi-story buildings.

A benefit and golf tournament for David Nelson, who is battling chronic lymphatic leukemia, is planned for June 20 at the Dawn Hill Country Club, but some times have changed due to a scheduling conflict at the country club.

A 20-year reunion is planned on June 26 and 27 for the Gentry High School Class of 1989.
