Recycling center open again and recycling
Western Recycle, which recently re-opened the recycling business at the Ozark Adventist Academy is continuing to expand its operations.
The recycling company, a division of Western Natural Fuel and Fertilizer, now takes newspaper, copy paper, shredded paper, junk mail, card stock, cardboard (both brown and white), magazines, brochures, telephone books, scrap metals, steel cans, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags, shopping bags, plastic wrap and shrink wrap. About the only recyclables they don’t take at the present time are Styrofoam or glass.
The company also collects recyclables from Gentry, Decatur and the surrounding area by placing large plastic collection bins at numerous businesses and in public places. All they ask is that recyclers separate paper from plastic by bagging them separately. The rest of the recycling work — hauling, sorting, baling and shipping — will be handled by Western Recycle.
Western Recycle is located at 20972 Dawn Hill East Road in Gentry. Recyclable materials can be dropped off in the company’s collection containers at the facility at any time, day or night. The center’s hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information on recycling or to arrange for a recycling bin, call 736-2846.
