As you may have heard in our Game Day Edition of the WholeHogCast, I picked Arkansas over Texas A&M, 31-21. Why? The Hogs are tested and are out to prove that this season isn’t going to keep going down a road of failure. Texas A&M, on the other hand, is about to be shown for its weaknesses on the offensive front and in the running game.

I also think Ryan Mallett bounces back in this game with a good showing, throwing for about 250 yards while the running backs get about 150 yards in a rather easy win for the Hogs.

Even if it’s not a pretty game, it’ll at least look pretty on the high-definition screens hanging above the field at Cowboys Stadium.

Don’t forget to join our Slophouse group (group name: The Slophouse; password: slop) in our Hog Call U-Pick-Em contest to compete against me and other Slophouse fans for a chance at winning two tickets to the next Fayetteville game.

Share your picks below. By the way, who’s heading to Arlington?

I think the Hogs take this one for one main reason. Matchups on the line. Comparing rosters, I noticed that TAMU is much smaller on average than the Hogs on both lines. They have not played linemen this big and fast yet. I think the Hogs get production from the running game, and take advantage of the mismatch against the "jack" player from TAMU with quick dumps to the RBs and TEs. Hogs pull away in the second half. 38-28 Hogs!!!

Brandon, I'm sorry, but if Mallett only has 250 yards passing we will lose by 21. Unless of course you are saying Tyler Wilson will have 250 yards as well... :) Our defense is the worst on any team in ANY BCS conference, so I say the pigs will win 59-56 on a last second FG because we get the ball last in the game and can't punch it into the end zone.

I'm saying Hogs 45-35. I too disagree with your 250 yards on Mallett. If he only goes for 250, it could be a long game for us. I would say he will have another good 300-400 yard game. Arkansas has the experience of 2 top 25 teams, while Texas A&M has played high school teams basically. I think their lack of schedule gets them here.

I think the Hogs will win 49-28. Though I am still disappointed in our effort against Alabama, there is still no shame in losing to them, or to Georgia, who has revealed themselves to be a bit better than expected. On the other hand, TAMU allowed 30 points and over 500 yards to UTAH STATE!! Unless the Hogs are completely unprepared, we should be able to have similar success. Defensively, I don't think the Aggies have faced a defense with respectable talent (I know some can argue that they will not on Saturday either), but they will actually face upper-tier talent tomorrow (perhaps not an upper-tier scheme). Go Hogs!

I think there is going to be a lot of scoring. A&M is going to put up 1 more score than Arkansas, however. A&M 31 UA 27

i say atm will take it in a close. win. i have been to every single game this year and to a lot of their closed practices. if your a hogs fan, you better watch out for a few sleeper studs and plays

  • tncbg says:

Why would TAMU even bother with the run? The whole world knows that our secondary stinks and will game plan accordingly. TAMU wins it with 600 yards of offense.

hey brandon, good call. I believe I owe an apology to our defense. Great game guys! Keep it going vs Auburn... WPS!!!
