Sunday Thread: Post your reactions, watch some video
Plenty of stories from Arkansas’ 47-19 win are up on WholeHogSports.com this morning, and here’s a new video to check out complete with post-game reaction.
With that in mind, and after you read and hear what the coaches and players had to say, tell us what you think.
As for my thoughts? The difference in the game was the adjustments by the defensive and offensive coaching staffs after the first two possessions. All of a sudden the defensive line started getting pressure, forcing Jerrod Johnson into hurried throws, and Ryan Mallett started to look poised in the pocket. And how about Joe Adams‘ night? He had more yards after the catch, possibly, than he has all season. He’s a playmaker.
Next up is a difficult and undefeated Auburn team, led by Gus Malzahn’s offensive attack. I think the Hogs have a bit of an advantage there having seen Malzahn’s offense already against Tulsa last year. It also helps that the Razorbacks just played and beat a high-powered, hurry-up offense in Arlington, Texas.
So what are your thoughts? Grade the Hogs and let us know your thoughts. I’ll chime in again when we get off the road and arrive in Fayetteville.

It looked like "same song, different verse" after TAMU jumped out to that 10-0 lead, but it seemed like the adjustments made after that helped. Hopefully, the pressure our D-line adjustment is somewhat indicative of improvement and experience, although I realize that some part of it was an outmatched and inexperienced A & M line. I think it is encouraging to see that our rebuilding effort is light years ahead of the Aggies and hopefully we'll be able to make inroads in Texas recruiting-wise after last night's performance.
I think we do have somewhat of an advantage having seen Malzahn's offense, but those running backs that Auburn has are going to be at a much higher level than Tulsa's. It looks like our offense could keep pace (Tennessee even began to make progress against the Tigers' defense). I think it'll be a good game. Hopefully, the D will continue to improve.
Grades:
Offense: A-= Though we didn't run the ball particularly well, we showed it enough to make the play action effective. To beat Auburn, I think the Hogs should lean heavily on the run and control the clock.
Running: B-= More Wingo, less Green. Don't give up on Smith; just get him some better plays.
Passing: A
Defense= C+= Honestly, this is all we need right now to have a chance. They are going to give up yards because the offense is so explosive. The trick is limiting the explosiveness of the other team, and we mostly did that. They gave up the 60-yarder and should have given up another (their receiver just dropped it). Otherwise, the defense did a much better job of limiting the Aggies' big plays because of a much-improved pass rush, which always makes the corners look better. Keep that pass rush going.
More Wingo. What are we waiting for, this kid is awesome. Hope our defense continues to blitz the quarterbacks of our opponents which we didn't do against GA & ALA. Also, would a zone defense helf our poor coverage by our defensive backs?
A&M certainly did not look like a SEC quality team. They looked more like Missouri St. Now let's see if Petrino can win in the SEC.
what i liked the most, during the Hogs and Aggies game, was Petrino chewing tail after one of the Hog players commited a personal foul,Petrino is sick and tired of the Hogs shooting thereselve in the foot, you take away the personal fouls against Georiga, and the Hogs could easely be 3-1.
