Slophouse Predictions: Arkansas vs. Eastern Michigan
It’s time to make your picks on the blog, tell us how you see the game developing and then head on over to Hog Call and win some Arkansas vs. South Carolina tickets by showing your picking prowess. Congrats to Jim Bryant for winning tickets last week for correctly picking all the games.
Here on the Slophouse, we’re 6-1 in predicting Arkansas games so far this season. The first incorrect selection was Arkansas over Ole Miss, which of course did not happen in a 30-17 win for the Rebels last week.
How will Arkansas Halloween homecoming with Eastern Michigan shape up Saturday? Well, I’m going to go with Arkansas over Eastern Michigan, 41-10. Why? Arkansas will be able to do whatever they want offensively against the Eagles and have success, and I fully expect the Razorbacks to get their running game going again against the winless team. Plenty of kids will be leaving the game early with their parents to go trick-or-treat, I’m sure. I’ll say tailback Michael Smith rushes for 105 yards, the young backfield gets some added experience as the Hogs pile up 225 yards on the ground.
Ryan Mallett will bounce back with a clean and concise 185 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air before giving way to backup Tyler Wilson for some fun.
Don’t forget to join our Slophouse group (group name: The Slophouse; password: slop) in our Hog Call U-Pick-Em contest to compete against me and other Slophouse fans for a chance at winning two tickets to the next Fayetteville game.

Hog roll and roll and then roll some more.... 75-13
Hogs - 63
Eagles - 3
I don't know about this. If Ryan shows up we'll blow them out. If he plays like last week...not so much. I'll go in between: Hogs 41 - 26
This game should be exactly what Arkansas needs to get their swagger back and it could not come at a better time. On DEFENSE the guys must rediscover themselves with good fundamentals and solid gang tackling. The running game has to start showing up, in addition to the short passing game. Hopefully, the Razorbacks can come out of this game healthy and put it on Eastern Michigan, as well. The season really starts today.

While watching Ole Miss v Auburn, it occured to me that neither Petrino or Nutt can prepare their teams for road games, anyway UA 35 EM 14
That game this morning was classic Houston Nutt. After taking his Gatorade shower, he felt like his work was done. I have to disagree with you a little Wayne. Petrino and staff are 2 and 2 on preparing the team for road games. Alabama was a disaster, but TAMU was successful. They prepared well enough to win against Florida, and oddly enough, the controversy and close win against Florida was the worst thing that could have happened for Ole Miss week. It still seemed like they were reeling from UF; of course, a good coach should have his team prepared for ALL games and this is inexcusable. But Petrino has had some success preparing the team for road trips.
Regarding the game today. I am guessing 52-21.
