The Gypsy returns, just not on Dickson Street
This is something we’ve heard about for several months now, and it looks like it’s as good a time as any to chat about it:
Fayetteville is apparently getting a new live music club.
It’s called The Gypsy on College, and it will be located in the former Dart Room location on North College Avenue. For the past several weeks, vehicles have been at the location, presumably helping redecorate the building, which has been vacant since the Dart Room locked its doors in February.
According to a blog post on the venue’s MySpace page, it will be operated by John Dortch, who was a founding partner of the The Gypsy on Dickson, which opened in 2002 and closed earlier this year.
According to the same post, Nov. 1 will serve as the venue’s opening night. Bonepony, from Nashville, Tenn., will serve as the debut act.
The new club features, according the the Web site, a new bar, booth seating and new sound and lighting equipment.
We’ll provide updates as more information is provided.
