George Winston must not have been content mastering one style of piano.

Legally blind since birth, Bill Hearne is not a typical musician. He is largely self-taught, and his picking style was one he developed all his own. While in Austin, Texas, Hearne met his wife, Bonnie, and the duo toured together for years. In 1997, they were signed to Warner Bros. Records and their first album [...]

The name Lollipop Factory might be a little bit of a misnomer. The Alabama-based duo of Bekah Manning and David Tweed don’t make confectionery treats. Instead, they make tasty metal music. The group, currently touring the South, will trek through Fayetteville and will stop for a 10 p.m. concert today (Oct. 23) at Smoke & [...]

In a word, YES.

Emily Kaitz is no stranger to the local music scene. She’s a frequent contributor on others’ work and has produced several albums, too.
The last time she released an album, in fact, it was as a collaboration with Texas songwriter Bruce Jones.
This time, it’s her turn.
Kaitz, who moved to Northwest Arkansas in the late ’90s after [...]

So often when they perform in the area, classic rockers Little Feat are on larger stages, such as during the Dickson Street Music Festival in 2007 or during Feat Fest in Eureka Springs. But on Saturday night (Oct. 17), the band will tackle the infinite confines of George’s Majestic Lounge, 519 W. Dickson St. in [...]

A few weeks ago, we learned that rockers Third Eye Blind are planning a Nov. 17 visit to Barnhill Arena on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville.
Now, we have a little bit more information.
Because, as suspected, the concert is being produced by the university’s Headliner Concerts Committee, a student-fee driven entity, a limited number [...]

Sometimes, you just want to hear a song. Not just something on the radio, lurking in the background. But to really listen, catch the lyrics, feel the emotions and discover its history.
Local musician Effron White, who has written his fair share of songs, knows the feeling. His travels to songwriter festivals and tours throughout the [...]
